Rothesay Pavilion

Elder and Cannon were appointed in June 2010 to undertake design and feasibility options on this 1938 ‘A’ Listed Art-Deco building which sits on a prominent site on the waterfront in Rothesay, Isle of Bute.

As part of this process a series of four options have been developed, ranging from restoration and upgrade to DDA compliance, right through to a far more extensive adaptive proposal. This would see the incorporation of a café, crèche, conference facilities, galleries, overnight accommodation, library, music practice space and office start-up facilities for the local community, while maintaining the character of this historically and culturally significant building.
