Queen Elizabeth Square, Glasgow

The mixed tenure development of 63 units for sale and Housing Association rent is located at a focal point in the Queen Elizabeth Square masterplan integrating the new residential quarter with existing fabric and forming a new gateway to a public park.

The project was conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional urban block informed by functional criteria of orientation and sunlight allowing all residents to experience direct south light to their living spaces throughout the day.

A controlled vocabulary and limited palette of robust materials including facing brick render and zinc gives unity to the composition as a whole.
