Maryhill Locks Masterplan, Glasgow

Developed around the five basins of Maryhill Locks and a grand historic aqueduct, the masterplan seeks to create an exemplar of sustainable mixed tenure mixed use waterside development and visitor destination. The masterplan demonstrates how the unique qualities and potential of the area could be built upon. A site specific contextual proposal with a modesty of scale combined with a rich landscape that worked to draw people and economic development into the area.

Particular consideration was given to a responsive approach that would provide a safe and sustainable place for all and was achieved through community and stakeholder collaboration.

The document produced now forms part of Supplementary Planning Guidance for Glasgow City Council.
