Edinburgh Park Masterplan, Edinburgh

The competition winning design proposals offer ideas in a layout which engages with the regime of the adjacent Richard Mieir masterplan and provides a high density mixed use development of 440 residential units and 3000m2 of commercial space and over 500 parking spaces.
The vocabulary of urban space and landscaping extends into the proposals along a pedestrian route separated from vehicular traffic which is punctuated by pavilion blocks poised in pools and passes through gateway buildings and between grand apartments arranged around garden courtyards.

A variety of commercial activity is envisaged including live work units and small boutique type shops and cafes which line the pedestrian routes and give a particular identity to the new residential quarter.
